Nauru Maritime Port Authority (NMPA) – Gateway to the Pacific, ensuring safe, secure, and efficient maritime trade.

Who We Are

The Nauru Maritime Port Authority (NMPA) is responsible for managing and developing the Republic of Nauru’s primary maritime gateway. Strategically located on the island’s western coast, Nauru Port plays a vital role in international trade, phosphate exports, container handling, and fuel imports.

As the national port authority, NMPA is committed to innovation, sustainability, and compliance with international maritime standards, making it a key driver of Nauru’s economic and social development.

Sustainable & Climate-Resilient Connectivity Project

Backed by the Government of Nauru and international partners, this project will transform the Port of Nauru into a modern, safe, and climate-resilient facility. Construction is underway and the upgraded port is expected to be completed by late 2025.
