πŸ•’ Vessel Arrival Procedure

1️⃣ ETA Notice

Submit ETA at least 5 days prior.

2️⃣ Application

Lodge with Harbour Master & Terminal Planner.

3️⃣ Clearance

Customs, Quarantine & Immigration checks.

4️⃣ Pilot Boarding

Pilot boards offshore, guides vessel in.

5️⃣ Berthing

Proceed to assigned berth/mooring.

  5. βš“ Berthing – Proceed to assigned berth/mooring under Harbour Master direction.

βš“ Mooring Booking Rules

  • Bookings advisable, vessels without bookings must queue.
  • Bookings confirmed 5 days prior to arrival.
  • Must include estimated loading/discharge time.
  • Valid only within 24 hours of ETA.
  • Berth/mooring contract required for all vessels.
  • Subject to weather & sea conditions (Harbour Master’s decision).

πŸ“¦ Cargo Operations

  • πŸŒ… General cargo: daylight hours only.
  • 🚒 Cargo vessels must vacate berth at sunset, re-berth next day.
  • β›½ Phosphate & fuel: continuous until completion.
  • ⚠️ Suspension >8 hrs (except weather) may lose berth allocation.
  • 🌊 Harbour Master may suspend/terminate operations due to unsafe conditions.

🚒 Vessel Restrictions

Vessel Type Rules
Petroleum Tankers ≀ 6,000 GT: continuous pusher barge required.
> 6,000 GT: Mooring under Harbour Master instruction only.
General Cargo Vessels ≀ 170m LOA: mooring permitted with Harbour Master approval.
May be ordered to vacate due to sea/weather conditions.
Bulk Carriers ≀ 8,000 GT / 10,000T: continuous pusher barge required.
> 8,000 GT / 10,000T: Tug (25T bollard pull) required.
Vacating may be ordered on short notice.

  • βœ… ISPS Code compliance required for all vessels and personnel.
  • πŸͺͺ Visitors & contractors must present valid ID for entry.
  • πŸ‘· PPE required: helmet, high-visibility vest, safety boots.
  • πŸ“‹ Port entry permits must be approved by Nauru Maritime Port Authority.
  • ⚠️ Unauthorized access is strictly prohibited.
