📍 Location & Overview

Nauru Port is located on the western side of Nauru, providing the island’s only international maritime gateway. The port supports containerized cargo, bulk exports, phosphate, and fuel imports, making it vital for the nation’s trade and economy.

🕒 Operating Hours

Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday: Closed (special arrangements for vessels by request)

Cargo and vessel handling services can be arranged outside normal hours subject to prior approval from NMPA.

🔒 Security & ISPS Compliance

Nauru Port is fully secured and operates in compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. Access to port facilities is restricted to authorized personnel only, and visitors must comply with port entry requirements.

🚧 Port Development Projects

With the support of the Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Connectivity Project, Nauru Port is undergoing a major upgrade to improve capacity, safety, and climate resilience. The new facilities are expected to be completed by late 2025, featuring a modern wharf, container yard, and improved cargo handling systems.
